Winners 2014 – Mogo-RTU/Inspecta


The second tournament gathered significantly more teams from different countries whose level of mastery was higher than the year before. Again “RTU/Inspecta” became champions of Men’s Elite who played an exciting finale and protected their 3:2 victory over Sweden team “Akersberg IBK”. Meanwhile 3rd place went to “Talsi/Triobet” while champions of Latvia “Cēsu alus/Lekrings” remained outside of the semi-finals.

Men’s tournament was split into two divisions and in nominally weakest competition “Rēzekne” became champions who is one of the strongest clubs of Latvia’s 1st division, they tricked “Ogres vilki” in final game by 2:1. 3rd place went to team “Rígas Bigfoots”. The tournament was attended by several foreign teams but none of them made it through the quarterfinals.

U-16 age group also resulted in a dramatic finale where FK”Ríga/Fastum” playing with significantly fewer players were able to protect their victory 2:1 over “Lielvárde/Universelectric”. The bronze medal was convincingly won by “Talsu NSS/KEEL” who was craving to play in the finals.

U-14 age group was the only one in which the winner was known much earlier than in the last seconds, because “Rígas Lauvas” after similar first period , shattered FK”Ríga/Fastum” by 11:4 at the finals. Meanwhile in competition for 3rd place “Ogres vilki” met serious competition from “Rígas Ra’ketes”.

For the first time competition was held also between women and the winner of the cup was held by Latvian “Rīgas Lauvas” who won “Angry Pigs” from Russia by 3:2. Bronze medals were won by “Liepāja” floor ball players.
